1- Mô tả thực vật:
Cây tràm gió còn gọi là cây lá chè đồng (Melaleuca leucadendron), họ Sim (Myrtaceae), cây nhỏ thường ở dạng bụi, cao 0,5 – 2m, hoa màu trắng nhạt có lông mềm, lá màu xanh lục nhạt, phiến lá hình mác nhọn, cứng, dễ gãy dài 6 – 12cm, rộng 2- 3cm với nhiều ngân chính chạy dọc theo lá và các gân phụ hợp thành mạng.
Tràm gió mọc nhiều ở các nước Châu Á như: Việt Nam, Campuchia, Indonesia. Ở Việt Nam tràm mọc tự nhiên rải rác trên các đồi trọc miền Bắc (như Bắc giang, Quảng ninh ), và tập trung nhiều ở miền Trung và miền Nam (Quảng Bình, Thừa Thiên Huế, Đà Nẵng, Hà Tĩnh, Long An, Đồng Tháp, An Giang, Hậu Giang). Do đặc trưng về thổ nhưỡng và khí hậu nên cây tràm miền trung cho lượng tinh dầu tốt nhất.

– Dùng trong trường hợp cảm mạo, nhiễm gió độc cho người già, người bệnh, sản phụ, trẻ nhỏ, kể cả sơ sinh.
– Hỗ trợ trong điều trị nhức mỏi xương khớp người già
– Xoa bóp cho phụ nữ sau sinh, dịu vết côn trùng đốt, mẫn ngứa.

Phân tích thành phần hóa học của dầu tràm có rất nhiều chất, nhưng chỉ hai hoạt chất có tác dụng là Eucalyptol chiếm 40-55% và α-Terpineol chiếm 5-10%. Eucalyptol có tác dụng sát khuẩn nhẹ, long đờm, có hương thơm và mùi vị dễ chịu nên được dùng trong nhiều loại thuốc ho, nước súc miệng và mỹ phẩm… Hoạt chất α-Terpineol chiết xuất từ tinh dầu Tràm chính là nguyên liệu để sản xuất nhiều thuốc sát khuẩn và nấm đặc hiệu dưới hai dạng sử dụng: bôi thoa trực tiếp hay dạng hít ngửi bay hơi.
Đã có nhiều công trình khoa học ở cấp Bộ Y tế, cấp Nhà nước nghiên cứu về tác dụng kháng khuẩn của α-Terpineol từ tinh dầu Tràm. Và gần đây một nghiên cứu của OPODIS pharma (thực hiện tại Viện Pasteur TP.HCM năm 2008) cho thấy dầu thuốc sử dụng α-Terpineol tự nhiên chiết xuất từ tinh dầu Tràm có tác dụng ức chế virus cúm H5N1; còn tác dụng ức chế virus H1N1 hiện đang tiếp tục nghiên cứu. Từ năm 2008 tinh dầu Tràm cũng được Bộ Y tế cho vào danh mục thuốc thiết yếu dành cho y tế cơ sở để kiểm soát bệnh địa phương (local diseases control).
Từ lâu tinh dầu Tràm đã được sử dụng rất rộng rãi trong cộng đồng để phòng ngừa cảm mạo, “gió máy” cho người già, người bệnh, sản phụ, trẻ nhỏ, kể cả sơ sinh.
Hỗ trợ trong điều trị nhức mỏi xương khớp người già, cảm mạo, nhức đầu, chóng mặt. Xoa bóp cho phụ nữ sau sinh, xoa vào chỗ côn trùng đốt, mẫn ngứa.
Rất thích hợp cho sản phụ, trẻ sơ sinh và người cao tuổi…
3- Cách dùng:
Đối với người lớn thì cách dùng tinh dầu Tràm đơn giản, chỉ bôi, xoa bình thường như dầu gió thôi. Còn đối với trẻ sơ sinh thì cần cẩn trọng hơn:
Tắm cho Trẻ sơ sinh: nhỏ vài giọt tinh dầu Tràm vào thau tắm đã có nước nóng
Sau khi tắm xoa một ít tinh dầu vào lưng, lòng bàn chân, lòng bàn tay để giữ ấm cho bé, đồng thời để bé cảm thấy thoải mái, thư giãn
Sổ mũi, cảm: Thoa dầu vào xung quanh nơi bé ngủ như gối, chăn màn, khăn quàng cổ…
Trị ho: Xoa tinh dầu sau lưng và trước ngực cho bé như Massage
Trị kiến, muỗi cắn: Bôi ngay chỗ bị cắn của bé.
Trị Đau bụng: Xoa quanh vùng rốn
Dùng massage khi kết hợp với dầu nền (dầu dẫn) và các tinh dầu khác
Dùng thăng hoa tinh dầu vào không khí bằng đèn xông chuyên dụng
Dùng xông mặt và cơ thể ( xông mặt nóng, tắm hơi với tinh dầu)
Nhỏ 1 giọt tinh dầu vào nước ấm rửa mặt tạo cảm giác thư thái dễ chịu.
Có thể uống tinh dầu pha với nước ấm trị viêm họng, ho.. (theo hướng dẫn của bác sỹ)
4- Lưu ý: Do đặc tính là sát khuẩn diệt trùng nên tinh dầu Tràm hiện nay được sử dụng rất rộng rãi không chỉ dùng cho trẻ em và người già mà người ta giờ còn để dùng phòng chống một số bệnh mới đó là H1N1. Cơ quan y tế khuyến cáo chúng ta nên rửa tay sạch sẽ khi đi ra ngoài về và thường xuyên rửa tay nhằm mục đích tẩy rửa diệt trùng diệt khuẩn, và trên thị trường đã bán các loại nước rửa tay để đối phó. Và giờ tinh dầu Tràm là một sản phẩm không thể thiếu với tính linh động mang đi có thể thoa bất cứ lúc nào và ở đâu và mùi hương thơm mát mang tới cảm giác dễ chịu .
Không bôi trực tiếp tinh dầu lên da ở các vùng nhạy cảm, không được uống trực tiếp.
Bảo quản: Đựng trong lọ kín, bảo quản nơi khô ráo, tránh ánh nắng trực tiếp.
Hạn dùng: 24 tháng kể từ ngày sản xuất.
Thận trọng:
Đọc kỹ hướng dẫn sử dụng trước khi dùng.
Không tiếp tục sử dụng nếu phát hiện có mùi, màu sắc lạ.
Không dùng cho những người có kích ứng với bất kỳ thành phần nào của sản phẩm.
